For those who aren’t in the know… Bo knows. Bo Jackson was an All-Star in two major American Sports; baseball and football. It’s rare to find an athlete who epitomizes talent in a variety of sports, let alone two. It’s also uncommon to find a training shoe that flawlessly equates with all types of sports; basketball, football, baseball, etc.
Nike changed the training shoe game when it debut the Nike Air Trainer Max 91’s for multi-sports athlete Bo Jackson. Tha Dogg Pound and Snoop Dogg were very influential to practically everyone on the the West Coast. With Snoop’s undeniable swag, Daz’s super “West Coast” beats, and Kurupt’s lyrical precision, Tha Dogg Pound was a force to be reckoned with.
When the group came out with their hit single “New York, New York,” Tha Dogg Pound found themselves submerged in controversy. Being that this song was released during the height of the media created “West Coast/East Coast Beef,” many people saw this as a direct diss to the whole East Coast rap scene. When Tha Dogg Pound released the music video for “New York, New York,” it was evident that this song was meant to take a shot at the East Coast rap scene.

Today we continue our new segment SneakTech on Adidas Adi-color campaign from the 198o’s. In 1983 Adidas launched Adi-color which included a pair of white Adi-color low tops packaged with a set of paints, paintbrushes, and a wooden palette. This ultimately allowed their consumers to customize their shoes to achieve the exact look that they wanted.
This was a huge step forward for athletic footwear corporations as they looked to ditch their conservative color combinations and submerge themselves into creating more complex color schemes.
